Berlin 8–12 December 2012Back

For the first time in its history, the Winter Simulation Conference took place outside of the U.S. in 2012. To present our paper on ways to achieve grid stability in presence of a large amount of photovoltaic microgeneration (including a poster thanks to the WSC Ph.D. colloquium), I thus went to Berlin in early December. With wintery temperatures and quite a bit of snow, taking the train once again turned out to have been a good choice: In contrast to colleagues, whose plane simply did not leave Saarbrücken airport, I was "only" about one hour delayed in both directions.
